From this year onwards we started with an innovative idea of welcoming the students of STD I to make them feel at home. We arranged a small programme for them and distributed sweets.
We celebrated international yoga day on 21st June where the students and teachers participated in yogic exercises so as to promote mental and physical wellbeing.
We celebrated various festivals namely Ramzan Eid , Gokulashtami, Diwali and Christmas in our school to inculcate the feeling of national integration and to acquaint our students with various cultures. Keeping up with our tradition, we also celebrated our national festivals.
Republic day and Independence Day were celebrated in coordination with the other institutions of Sadhana Education Society.
This year we took an initiative with extensive support from Management to sensitise the parents, students and staff of our school about Child Sexual Abuse and ways and means to fight against it. It was conducted by the professional trainees from Arpan, an NGO dedicated towards freedom from child sexual abuse.
Various competitions planned for the year like clay modelling, card making, drawing, fancy dress competition and others were conducted at regular intervals.
On 15th October we observed reading inspirational day and also we organised reading competition to encourage reading amongst our students which will help us in building a well–read society.
The Annual Medical check-up was conducted between 22nd November and 24th November2016. The check-up was done by the doctors from Surya Nursing Home, Santacruz. The parents were also addressed by the doctors regarding health and hygiene. They were given tips about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
This academic year was also witness to the annual sports week. Sprightly students exhibited their athletic skills and livened up the school premises with their enthusiasm peppered with unbridled passion for sports .The week saw the teachers, parents and students at their lively best .
This year we took our students for an educational visit to Farm Regency E.V.S. Nature Park at Gorai. The students were given first–hand experience of various plants and animals through a documentary. The students were also indulged in a wonderful magic show.
This year we organized a ‘Project Exhibition’ to provide the students a platform to let their minds take flight. The dedicated teaches were the wind beneath their wings. They gave beautiful ideas to the students and constantly worked with the students to motivate them. The students thoroughly learnt from the exhibits and it was very successful.
The students of STD IV took part in a workshop named ‘Green Army’ which helped in educating the children on the aspects of sustainable living, conducted by Parisar Asha.
The teachers of our school went for workshops organized by “Muktangan”, in an attempt to improvise skills in effective English teaching.
The yearlong activities concluded with the ‘Prize Distribution’. The students who won various competitions were felicitated. They were given prizes in the form of trophies and books.
